Tweet on but seriously not right now

At the possibility of sounding lame and so not with it (I suppose I just did that) I am throwing my support behind  Josh Harris and John Piper about not tweeting during worship.  There is a time and place for "tweet commentary" but please not during our times of expressing corporately worship to God and listening to God through the scriptures.  Call me uptight if you must.

  1. are mints ok? as long as mints are ok, i mean.

  2. I so agree with you. I mean, there is already that lady in the nth row going in and out n times and the parents that don,t take their toddler to the nursery, the last thing I need is my bbery going on about you twitting.
Now, putting joke aside, aren’t we distracted enough? And don’t tell me that you were taking sermon notes.

  3. I’m not sure if this is a hot button issue for anyone at OBC but here’s some more reading to give this whole thing some context –
    Initial article from Time.com – ‘Twittering in Church, with the Pastor’s O.K.’ – http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1895463,00.html
Response from Josh Harris – http://joshharris.com/2009/05/should_we_use_twitter_during_c.php
Rebuttal from John Voelz, one of the pastors quoted in the Time article – http://johnvoelzblog.blogspot.com/2009/05/time-to-pay-piper-my-response-to-john.html
